HPS user OS Poll
All,

I've setup a poll on my private forums to gather feedback from people on what OS they are currently using (or plan to use soon), so please take a minute and vote. I have set it so you do not need to be registered on my forums to participate.

Please share this with all HPS gamers you know too...

Thanks,
Rich

RE: HPS user OS Poll
I wonder what will happen when MS rolls out its newest OS, Windows 7. VISTA is not that popular and MS has a habit of dumping the oldest OS so only the two latest ones are supported.
XP still rocks on for many users. With the release some time ago of XP SP3 I can hear the bell was tolling....it tolls for thee.

RE: HPS user OS Poll
This is how they force people to upgrade, or should I say, buy a new OS. :(

RE: HPS user OS Poll
XP is still my OS of choice plus where I work its still XP. MS is sorta bad but not as bad as AutoDesk. In the engineering world AutoCAD has the market share and you're asked to upgrade annually. They really got us over the barrel because every three years (like clockwork) you have to upgrade because they change the file format. You don't have to upgrade annually but you don't get support if you don't. But every threee years you lose the ability to edit files in the newest format if you don't stay current. ... its quite the money making scheme ... plus it seems each year the quality of the upgrades is going down.

Hank... you made me stop and think:
oh my god, nine years passed !!!! i buy Autocad each year for my sister (she's an architect) and i remember the day when i went to a small shop out of Beirut looking for the first time for Autocad 2000 (she was in the first year of college).

feels like a few months ago :(

Now i remember my first year of college Cry

what is the purpose of time !!!! why time have to pass ... so we remember??? do we have to Big Grin ??

Memories !

Edit- hehehe now i remember my first HPS title... Fulda gap '85... when i saw the soldier with that machine gun on the CD Cover i said Ouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu that looks a great game (i thought it was an action game like shooting or something like red alert hehehe) when i started the game and saw all those buttons and counters and the complicated interface i said Damn! what is this thing!!! is it a game or a computer program lol??......i don't know maybe weeks passed -with reading the manual and testing- before i realize what is happening on this map.

RE: HPS user OS Poll
I use Win 7 Beta. PzC runs fine. I heard that Win 7 will include XP so I don't expect much trouble like with the Vista release.

RE: HPS user OS Poll
Alfons de Palfons,
I assume you are referring to the compatibility option where any program can be set to be run in an older OS. This feature in VISTA is alos in Windows7, eh?

I suppose the same advice about VISTA and PzC/MC applies. Do not install the games in the programs directory etc.
