NO GERMANS! - Soviet AAR/DAR section

RE: NO GERMANS! - Soviet AAR/DAR section
I'm not sure of the range of rifle grenades, which they probably have. I watched that sequence over a few times, but could not see anything actually in the air. Usually one can see a bundle or satchel fly through the air on its way to the target. Anyway, I'm unscathed (so far), so not complaining! I'm just finishing turn 29, and if all goes well, we might finish our battle shortly. I'm gambling a bit with 2 T-70s, racing them ahead to try and get 2 large flags, or at least make them neutral.

yeah I was about to suggest you run some T-70 up the ravine to the flags but decided not to tell you how to suck eggs.

I regret to advise that we have suffered a serious reversal in the North Battle in the last minute of play. My bold gamble, ah, did not play out as I'd hoped. The plan was to run 2 T-70s to try and get the last 2 flags. I had all other units hold or advance, basically waiting for the clock to end

However, the evil fascists had other plans!

A T-34 and my T-70 HQ tank brew up by a previously un-sighted gun. It must be a 75mm or better by the way they blew up with one hit. The next turn I lose that second T-70. Cargol played it perfectly, letting some T-70s go by until a T-34 came into sight. We'll have to see how it all shakes out as to how many flags we get to keep, and how much infantry I lose. Very disappointing!

Don't worry about it, it was worth a risk. Your still in good shape with the flags it appears.

Looking back, that gully would have been very useful to move more troop and some armor through. As well, I was too slow moving my armor up, especially the T-34s. But like they say, hindsight is always 20/20. The next battles are going to be as tough or tougher I'm afraid. How are the 2 south battles going?

Well, still taking a slow but steady approach to get to that intersection - at last we are starting to see some of the dastardly German troops .. but another T70 pays the price being taken out by a another gun on the flank. Something I was expecting - T34s on hte right are in position to take him out .. troops are grouping to assault the intersection ..

Looking good Combat Wombat. Did you take out that first gun that you came across?

yep , got him via support fire from T34s .. I am worried about more guns on along that tree line to the left so am raking along from the flag to the intersection with area fire from one T34

I hope you can get that gun before it gets any more tanks. As I found out, they can very quickly ruin your day!
