Matrix Games - War in the Pacific
Has anyone played this game?

http://www.matrixgames.com/products/351/...'s.Edition

It looks interesting but I haven't played any Matrix games before and it's almost $100.

RE: Matrix Games - War in the Pacific
hi
i have the first war in the pacific, the game is ultra detailed and very time consuming both of which i enjoy

the land part is a bit abstract in the first edition but i believe it is improved for the new game

the naval and air games are were the game comes alive with individual ships planes and pilots, as i said ultra detail

all in all some people love it and some hate it, there is no inbetween so if you like super detail it is for you if not dont buy it

i will be buying the new game when i can afford it even on nws it is 79 us dollars i believe

regards
keith

I have it and it is really hard - you have to pour over hundreds of detailed charts and the manual does not adequately explain how to do things. I haven't been playing it after several days of staring blankly at the screen trying to figure it out. It's very much a mind game and not graphics intense. It is very detailed though and if a person has the patience I suppose it would eventually get fun.

Many folks play both the old and new version of WitP on our Sea and Air Combat Ladder. A post in that forum will get you a broader response Chris.
