What's the mission?

What's the mission?
Does anyone know of how you can tell what your force mission is once the game has begun? Jason and I are playing a campaign and he said he only got 125 support points (not rebuild) for the current mission which as far as I know is an ME. But 125 is way low for an ME, it should be about 700+ so I am wondering if the mission is something other then an ME. But there is no way of telling once the game has started as far as I know.

I'm playing a meeting where I got 338 pts for aux and my oppo over twice that. I have no idea where the AI draws the points.

There are a few problems with the campaign engine, the biggest being the loser gets less rebuild points then the winner which as we both know from experience just leads to bigger and bigger defeats and a deeper hole.

Indeed. One good experience so far but that's probably a fluke. Last battle of the campaign and the winning side is forced to delay. Opponent has so heavy numerical advantage that both sides are reduces to nothing.

RE: What's the mission?
No way to know once starts as far as I know but think allotment varies along thes lines.
Assume meeting so should be same sized force for simplicity.
Player 2s Support is sum of player 1s Core & support minus player 2s Core.
Example
Player 1 core 2750 buys 250 support for 3000 total.
Player 2 will now recieve support to take his force to 3000 points to
It probably tailors slightly like if player 2s core is already 3000 still recieves a few support. Also the reverse if player 2 only has 1000 left in core he will not recieve 2000 support game probably looks at player 1s support & adjusts something as simple as cant be more than 4x the other players would restrict but probably a bit mor complex.

The upshot is hopefully side with smallest core should get more support points so one might get 300 the other 700.

First battle when both sides cores are near enough identical both sides will get the same amount of support points, this can be controled by player 1. If he is offered 500 support points but only uses 50 player 2 will get 50 to if he spent the full 500 they will be offered that.

I think thats how it works.

A note on repair point dicrepancy there are several ways round it if want to be a gentleman & get the other player back in the game.
Easyist is have a light engagement. Adjust map size & just use one infantry company or whatever you agree on, sort of advance scouting with part of your core only. gives a change of pace & get another lot of repair points to get him back up to strength.

Still agreeing with Weasel's post number three on this thread. Winner gets more points than loser. We tried to balance the points and every time it was winning player who didn't use all the points allowed.

The way your calculation goes would be better than the one it uses at the moment.

REPOST: Damn board crashed the first time.

Jason and I just figured this out. Once we started talking we realized that his FV was much higher then mine, my 2840 to his 3400. And once we took into account the support points it all came together, my 700+ to his 100+. So I can agree with this aspect of the game. BTW - we are playing MBT, not SP where Vesku and I had all our troubles.

Just started the first camp in ver4, let's see if it works better.

RE: What's the mission?
You may be able to tell what mission you have by the number of priority targets (gold spots) you have:

1: Meeting Engagement
2: Delay
3: Defend
4: Advance
5: Assault

How does the force value effect repair points?

My current understanding is only that the winner gets about twice as many points as the loser. Any additional insight would be helpful.

RE: What's the mission?
Check out IMPS post. Target markers are dependant upon FOOs too.
REF REPAIR POINTS: Jason and I do this: once the battle ends we exchange FV before repair/expansion. If the gap is more then 500pts, then the lower player repairs/builds as much as he wants. The higher player will only repair/build to bring the points even.

Example: P1 FV = 2300, P2 FV = 2900. Gap is 600pts. P1 gets 700 pts to repair which he spends, bringing his FV to 3000. P2 gets to spend 100 pts bringing his FV to 3000.
