Computer problem
I have some problem with my computer and can't play until that's fixed. It will take couple of days perhaps.

No, good guess though :)

Display adapter is acting up, I can barely scroll up and down and SP doesn't start at all.

RE: Computer problem
How about a Raedon 9550XL 256MB? I got it in trade for a half height I had and I doubt that I will ever use it. It's not state of the art or even close but it works. That gives it an advantage over one that doesn't work. Email me with an address and I'll see what shipping is. If you don't mind waiting a few days. I doubt that Fed Ex has next day delivery to Europe.

RE: Computer problem
Friend loaned an old adapter and I'm back in business without even having to purchase a new one. It's good to have friends with computer pieces lying around :)

Thanks for the offer but I'll buy a new, the broken was geforce 8800 with 512 MB memory. I'll upgrade that.

RE: Computer problem
Something I have noticed is that cideamon.exe tends to really screw up SP. I used to have a lot of video problems with MBT and it wasn't unusual for me to do the Alt -tab thangie several times a session. Then I started giving it the 3 finger salute ( Alt-Ctrl-Del) and found that if I shut down cideamon.exe my troubles went away. Since cideamon.exe is a memory hog that hits 100% of CPU, regardless of processor, it makes sense to shut it down before starting a game. I didn't disable it because it is part of the file maintenance system, and while shuting it down every now and then isn't real dangerous, turning it off permanently risk corrupting DLL's, which is serious trouble.

So try that first. If your video was kaput, then you would be getting NOTHING, nada, zilch, zip. Just a banner on boot-up asking if your video cable was connected. If it works I can get some Steel Reserve with the shipping money and both of us will be happy.

I'll probably buy geforce 260 with 896MB memory. I need a heavy duty adapter which can run the latest games.

I didn't have to go to a shop this time, another friend had an extra geforce 9800, he just gave it for free.
