Scenario Balance
Hi chaps, I haven't posted for ages but still read the CS forum from time to time. Amazed after so many years to see such a change! It will take me a while to get used to it.

One thing that is worrying me is that I don't seem to be able to look for scenarios using scenario balance as a search criterea now. Is this still possible?

Cheers, Chris

RE: Scenario Balance
Hi Chris,

Last I heard, it was being worked on.
I share your concern. I like to look at balance and win/loss. :(

I'm sure it will be ironed out. :smoke:

cheers

RE: Scenario Balance
I brought this up in another thread Hobbes and was told it was being worked on.

I don't like the wins/draws/losses being displayed as percentages Fiery

You look at something like a reported 54/10/36 which can be very misleading unless you then highlight the game and see how many times it's been reported; then do the math and you have the actual wins/draws/losses :hissy:

RE: Scenario Balance
I agree. Hopefully then it will be improved. I just reported something else that I found that seemed quite worrying by PM to Steel God - didn't want to post it on
an open forum. Hopefully just some initial problems.

Gents:

You can search by rating... so you can get some idea of "enjoyment" level... and you can view the win-loss-draw in the scenario listing table.

But I would like to see a more robust search capability to find those elusive "balanced" scenarios too! :smoke:

Raz is still working on the site and has answered this issue: https://www.theblitz.club/message_boards...?tid=54436

I'm sure there'll be a few more bugs to iron out, but let him know if you see something really glaring.

Don't you think if you post that comment on the public forum, Chris, perhaps we should know what you refer to?

RE: Scenario Balance
I didn't want to post about it as I thought it might have been a problem with the initial set-up of the site. Apparently it's not. I was worried that people can go in and modify scenario parameters. If somebody has malicious intent they could cause quite a bit of damage - either by changing many or surreptitiously changing a few. But notifications of changes are sent out. Not sure how much attention would be payed to the odd change though?

RE: Scenario Balance
Thanks for enlightening us Chris!
I noticed on the matrix forum, someone has come up with a decoder for the units? I'm wondering, does that mean we get back to using units in a scenario where they have been modified and have an unfair advantage? I understood that the latest patch was encrypted so this couldn't happen, my understanding of the thread is that the encryption code is now defunct? Perhaps my limited knowledge of such things means that I am misreading the content!

RE: Scenario Balance
I don't know anything about that Peter. I'm not worried that a scenario can be hacked - just the data on the scenarios as shown on the site. Really just worried that weirdos can change the scenario data as shown on the Blitz site for a bit of 'fun'.

Cheers, Chris
