Thumbs_Up  Alan R. Arvold's Panzer Leader conversions completed
Visited the Wargamer Games Depot and noticed Alan R. Arvold had posted the "Ode to Panzer Leader VI" download there.

In his own words:

And now we come to the end of the conversion of Panzer Leader scenarios to the West Front computer game. In this set are various scenarios from the General Magazine. There is no central theme to them as the come from various articles. These articles were “The Battle of Arracourt; New Scenarios for Panzer Leader” by myself in the General Vol.28. #4; “Operation Rescue: Panzer Leader Situation 31-6” by F. Pierce Eichelberger in the General Vol.31, #6; “Tournament Scenarios for Panzer Leader” by Bill Scott in the General Vol.31, #4; and “The Red Ball Express: Logistics in Panzer Leader” by Elwood Carlson in the General Vol.14, #1.

As with the previous articles in this series, all original Panzer Leader scenarios were converted to the same standards as set forth in the Design Notes for the “Ode to Panzer Leader” series.

This addition brings the tally to Fifty-four (54!) PL situations converted to WF format !!! I take a  !!!

While some Panzer Leader conversions result in "interesting" fighting with tons of Op fire from very strong units in both side, typically all crammed in very small maps - this is Panzer Leader afterall! - there should be tons of new gameplay available to suit different styles and tastes.

Of course for those familiar with Avalon Hill's Panzer Leader this is a unique walk in the memory lane.

The conversions are done for WF Gold but seem to play nicely with JTCS.

My recommendation is to remove all the Improved Positions from the map (my pet peeve regarding his excellent conversion work) and perhaps consider playing these in a card board manner with no fog of war and no optional rules on.

Those were the days when my bold cardboard counters marched time after time again towards the city of Grancelles!

He's done a ton of Panzerblitz conversions to EF Gold as well, they can be located at the Games depot as well.

cheers

Had to pick up the box again. :smoke: Play-by-snail-mail anyone? :hissy:

It is by you? I take a  again...

Now wonder it is such hard core stuff!!! Whip

Have I seen it? Your mod made me decide JTCS is worth the bucks although I have all the Talonsoft disks. I've used the PL mod with WF and the PB mod with EF ever since! cheers

EDIT: Yes, my post #1 at Matrix forum at this thread :)

Dear Crossroads,
I am unable to take any credit. All credit for this wonderful mod came from jbunnelle at Matrix site. See post "PB/PL Mod for the Hardcore Old-School - 7/26/2007 7:00:11 PM"
I just refer folks to Blitz site as often as I can because I have really enjoyed the guys here.

However, I am glad you enjoy jbunnelle's work. I thought you would!

Cheers! cheers
