Sound problems in WF
Just got the game this week. Having problems with no sound of movement or fire in WF. Have posted at Matrix forums as well, but no responses yet.

One guy said something about the files being misplaced.

Any help would be much appreciated. cheers

RE: Sound problems in WF
First, is your top menu there? Press M to see it. Check Options, then the sound options.

Already have background and sound effects clicked. This is something else. Somebody at matrix said something about missing or misplaced sound files but have heard nothing back on my posting there yet either.

Open the JTCS folder with Windows Explorer. Then open the East Front folder. You should see sound files right away. They are .ogg files if you have extensions enabled.

OGG Vorbis audio. They are there in WF. EF works fine, it's WF that doesn't have movement and firing sounds, but the files are there.

RE: Sound problems in WF
open the 'M' button and make sure you have the background and sound effects clicked. Each game needs those settings done?

RE: Sound problems in WF
Both clicked. There are 323 ogg files in WF and only 217 in EF. I copied EFs over to WF anyway and at least I have the movement and firing sounds. Don't know what else is missing, but I figure to find that out eventually.

I had a look at the ogg files whether I could zip and send them over, but the
unzipped size of them all was over 30 megs... :(

Reinstall?
