winSPww2 v4.0 OOB errors

winSPww2 v4.0 OOB errors
Hi Guys

We obviously have a problem with ww2 v4.0 showing up 'OOB changed' error where there should be none.

If you use Basic security, you can just ignore these error messages and continue with your battle.
However, I imaging that Full Security will stop the game when it sees these error messages.

I have been testing with Vesku and also posting the results and files at shrapnel in the hope that we can get this sorted out

I am P1 in both tests so far
We used v4.0 and v4.0+OOB fix.

No error for either game in my T1
Error (player 1 OOB changed error) showed up in BOTH games at the start of Vesku (P2) T1.
Same error shows up for me (P1) at the start of T2.

So...at least for me and Vesku, it seems to be a v4.0 error, not the OOB fix.

I have one other SPww2 v4.0 games going...it showed no errors.

Can someone please start up test battle (use 000 or 001 slot please) and send it to
[email protected]

I need to see what happens when I am not P1.

Label the zip and save game file clearly as to which version you are using.
Either
v4.0
or
v4.0 plus OOB fix

Cheers
Walrus

Andy posted some nice tool for comparing the checksum of the OOB's in page 3 of this thread: http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/showthread.php?t=44725

Would be interesting to see if they are matching with others since I've seen the ob error message in all of my 4.0 games so far. Attaching my result in a text file (4.0 with the OOB fix included).

RE: winSPww2 v4.0 OOB errors
Hi Fred
Good work there bro Big Grin

I DL the checksum app and would you believe it...it wouldn't run.
Missing some file called VCL50.BCP...bloody hell!

I uploaded my OOB files to shrapnel where I figure Andy can look at them.

Hopefully we will get to the bottom of this.
Most strange eh.

Cheers

RE: winSPww2 v4.0 OOB errors
Hello Guys

Can I get a "Sound Off' if you have had the recent error messages with a version of winSPww2v4.0 (with or without OOB fix).

I am interested to see how many players have seen this error.
It's quite difficult to track down what is causing this and any info would help.

Cheers

I switch sounds off at first use. Could it be that sounds off does the error?

Sorry Vesku
.
"Sound Off" as in "speak Up"..."yell out"

I am trying to get a basic number of how many players have struck this error recently.

You are one, are you not?
You and Stonefire wasn't it?

Cheers

RE: winSPww2 v4.0 OOB errors
Well, obviously I have errors. Played two games in 4.0 (against Jay and Carl) and these are bugged.

I can even re-create the error by playing myself on the one and same installation which was pretty interesting. Had to exit the game, zip and unzip the game files to recreate the error. If I just played on without switching off the program no error occurred.

RE: winSPww2 v4.0 OOB errors
It was Vesku and myself. 3 scenario games started so far, all show OOB error (neither of us have OOB fix installed)
