Something very strange????
I am working on "Operation Brevity (1941)" as an element of my Western scenario project
One thing I like to do is to name my leaders (down to Bn level usually) ...indeed the OOB Editor does this for one. If I have the info, I change to the real names. It helps me to keep track of my units and formations, as well as adding to the historical value. I don't know if this is relevant to this problem, which may be fundamental and which I have NEVER seen before. I have the map, the OOB and am building the Scenario. Add a bit, take a bit off, check my references, and so on. I regularly click the Organisation button...who doesn't.............. I have some German and Italian units showing as purple highlights...ie as ALLIES..... when I click on the British Divisional HQ!!!!!!!!!!!!!. But the Brit Commander (Gott) doesn't.????????? Anyone who might be able to help, I am more than happy to send you the files. I have checked this a dozen times. rebuilt the OOB, but the same result.

RE: Something very strange????
They may be what I call Phantom units, meaning the game doesn't recognize them or gets confused. Try deleting the units that light up and hit your Div HG again and see if all is well. If that works, try putting replacement units back in the OB and rename them again. That happened alot in the TalonSoft version but have not seen it in the JTCS yet. What happens when you hit the Axis HQ?

I've had this happen a couple of times. I had Allied leaders show up as 1 strength point AT/SP units and had Russian engineers show up in a German cavalry battalion ... mounted on German horses. :eek1:
I think I traced mine back to making OOB and scenario file changes while I was play testing the scenario against the AI. But, I cannot confirm that. :conf:Whip

RE: Something very strange????
These are most likely units removed at a given time from the org file but not taken out of the scn file and have therefore become phantom units. Any units that don't highlight when you select the highest hierarchy in the scenario editor can be removed. After that try to add the correct units again.

Hope this helps.

RE: Something very strange????
That is possible...thanks Huib
On reflection, I was making ORBAT changes while building the scenario, so the explanations make good sense. What I can't get my head around is why the Bersaglieri (defending "Hellfire" Pass), managed to change sides! I will pull it apart and restart. No big deal.
