USMC vs. Japan, March 1944
Hi,

Looking for a new game in SPWW2 and it was a long time since I played something in the Pacific so that would be fun.

I like to play it on the attached Los Negros map (map 034 in my game) with edited VO's in clusters at key terrain objectives (plantage, villages, choke point to the south of the island etc.). Special rule: No troops are allowed to initially deploy south of hexline (X,110). To make it a bit more even I'd like 'country training' to be turned off and quality setting at 65.

(If it turns out to be an interesting game I have the intention to convert it into a H2H scenario  )

Settings:
v. 4.25
5000 points meeting engagement
10% arty - only onboard, ammo refill is ok
35 turns, visibility 25
4 MG's per inf company (actual guns counted, i.e. a unit carrying two MG's correspond to 2 machine guns, very logical)
1 sniper, 1 inf at formation, 1 recon formation per inf coy
Reasonable z-fire (support weapons only i.e. MG's, tanks, guns etc., not every unit every turn because the replays gets a bit dull)
Otherwise just try to buy some reasonable forces
Boats are ok - it's the pacific after all.
Air xxx

Ok, hope someone is interested - first one to email me gets it.. [email protected]. Slots 2,3,4 and 6 upwards are free.

I checked japanese coys and plattons and there are some coys which have about 4 patrols included or SNLF platoon - have MG section, or other coys has 2 inf at sections ...
I understand we cannot buy them due limits ?

Hey there,

Just sent you the game. No worries - if they are part of the actual formations I don't mind at all. Just don't buy additional scouts on top of them :) Only reason why I use rules like that is to not end up with completely unrealistic games full of bazooka teams and snipers.

Trouble is historicaly,in the Pacific the Japs would typicaly use alot of snipers and LMg's ect. and other 0 size nasties in caves and other dugged in positions, not in normal conforms with conventinal warfare.
Same thing in Nam and in most ways in Afganistan.

Continuing down that absolute realism track, the US troops should outman them in purchase points by about 10:1, have about 40% of the points in artillery and unlimited ammo... ;) At least in the later part of the war.
