"Understood

When I design a set of scenarios that depict a larger battle, as not everyone plays the campaigns, I do try to keep the overall picture in mind. Losses taken, if there were replacements and the quality of those replacements, the morale and how it changes, vehicle replacements/additions/losses, etc are all considered for each scenario. Come to think of it, I try and do the same thing for individual scenarios. "

For historical scens, the criteria of which you speak are largely mandated by history. Your Odessa series was the classic example. I haven't tried that approach, one reason being that there are a lot of legacy scens, up say to Bde size, that do many of the desert engagements.....far, far better than I could. As you know,I am working on a series of Western Desert major battles..Compass, Brevity, Battleaxe (under test) and Crusader next. Up to now, I have tried to steer the action in the historical direction with the use of objectives...which in IMO must make sense militarily. I try not to drop a 500 OP in the middle of nowhere. I am thinking for Crusader to limit objectives to the relief of Tobruk. Position the formations as well as I can historically then go to it, chaps. Interesting to see what if anything happens at Gabr Saleh, Sidi Rezegh, el Adem etc

"Agreed, not during the course of a scenario.

You can incorporate those captured units within a scenario set or a campaign setting, as many of the captured units are included in the various order of battles. Additional units will hopefully come into the game as we progress with UPDATEs.
"

Indeed. The DAK HQ escort consists of the useless Crusader. {One would have thought Rommel should have known better}. But all these captured trucks etc are only eye candy. They have to be in the original org file. But nothing wrong with eye candy.

We seem to have got off trucks. I am OK with trucks VP>1, but I think 3VP is too much. Leaves 2VP

Using the new truck SP's for most purposes, one will only see a 50% increase in truck value, since half the trucks are generally needed.

I think 3VP is reasonable.

I concede on this one. Do you see value in redoing some of the older scens to reduce truck numbers? I could pperhaps find some time. Scens would need to be renamed to reflect any modifications.

I still await the answer to the Italian trucks. I have read a deal of stuff suggesting Italian trucks were well thought of.

I do, absolutely. The scenario names would indeed have to be changed to reflect the changes, possibly added a "_T.scn" to denote trucks being altered.

It would be a simple affair using a Text Editor (Notepad, WordPad, etc), just time consuming and a basic understanding of what to look for. I would be happy to explain it to you offline. Over the phone perhaps.

The Italians will be getting a make over, so if you have any suggestions, by all means, bring them to the forefront and I can ensure they are included in an UPDATE. I believe the Italians are as they were from Talonsoft.

Why not by phone, if we can overcome the language barrier....... Mrs KKR and I (she is from the Maritimes) still have difficulty after 40+ years LOL.
My initial thoughts were to start with a small scen, pulling off the reinfs, making the adjustments, resetting the reinfs. Am I right you are talking about working in the code pages (is that the right word?) I will give it a try. Have done it with the day/night/day thing.

Re Itie trucks, you are aware they are still VP 1. You gave me a mod which I include with new scens as needed. I will ut a note on the Matrix site.

Very busy over the next couple of weeks.....kids moving house. I will contact you by email to arrange a time to call. We have a good plan for calling. I can remember when it cost an arm and a leg.
BTW...not just trucks. If done, it should be done for all transport elements that have had capacity doubled. Which is just about everything.

I don't know if the free minutes to the US will push the little amps all the way to Oz,though.

*laughs* D'oh! Humble apologies.

Yes, they do. I just confirmed. Australia is on the list of the International countries available to call.
