Bridging Engineers?

Bridging Engineers?
I'm testing a scenario and it has bridging engineers... and they significantly figure into the fight...

Are bridging engineers "one shot" like engineers building foot bridges or can they build multiple bridges over the course of a scenario?

thanks,

Jim

RE: Bridging Engineers?
The Bridging engineers can only build one medium size bridge per scenario, IIRC, whereas regular engineers can build an unlimited number of light bridges.

Die roll with 20% success for both of them.

Kat, engineers only get one foot bridge per scenario.. I learned that from experience...

As for the bridging engineers, after experimentation I learned it's the same for them... Once they build a bridge they are "out of" bridge building capability...

thanks,

Jim

RE: Bridging Engineers?
Ok...

I have just started to work on a river crossing scenario, with the first corner of the 10x12 km map completed.

This must be a bug then, the manual clearly states regular engineers have an unlimited capability for bridges. Good to know, otherwise would be scratching my head quite a lot... :)

RE: Bridging Engineers?
Regular engineers should be able to build as many light bridges as they wish, as long as they have ammo and are not disrupted or fatigued.

Bridging engineers will only build one bridge per scenario. Make sure you save them for the medium bridges only, if you choose to build a light bridge, they will be flagged as out of ammo and will not be able to build a medium bridge later in the scenario.

Jason,

I'm playing WF scenario and the engineers get the out of ammo flag after building a light bridge... it's not a problem as the scenario has a battalion plus of engineers... but it does not seem to be in line with what you are saying AND that is a problem... I can't conceive of the possibility that you are not spot on.... LOL...

What is the ammo like? How is their command and control?

They should come out of "Low on ammo" status eventually.

Let me know how many turns pass when they don't.
