Copying to and running Red Victory from external HDD

I copy the whole directory into a HDD so that I can play while using the office laptop when traveling (I do not have admin rights).

I get this error with RV:
"This application failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."

But other SB games work fine when coppied. Is there some sort of copy protection?

It has to be installed on the computer you are running it on.

So if you installed on a desktop, then disconnected and moved the ExHDD to a laptop, that won't work. It is related to Registry Entries (which is far above my pay grade.)
