non-responsive opponents
I have two opponents, both of whom have not sent me a move since June. Both have offered to resign if I accept the current victory conditions. I refuse to do this as I think I can win major victories in both cases. But as it stands I will never get any kind of a victory because my opponents simply remain silent. In one case one player, while complaining about his heavy work load as an excuse for the delay, let slip that he had just started TWO tournament matches.

I sent a message to this site's moderators weeks ago asking for guidance on this matter but have had no reply. So I'm asking fellow members how I should proceed with these two individuals.

Sorry, I didn't get your message, I assume I was one that you copied in on the email. Please look at rule 9 under the ROE for the site - it lays out what to do, which includes emailing your opponents and myself/Foul. Do that and you can claim the major win in both cases.

I too hate it when players delay and put off for extended periods, then join the tourneys - and sometimes even quit from those then join another tourney.

Sorry for your problems it is one of the most annoying aspects of PBEM, but i also did not receive any messages from you, did you mail my Hotmail account or use the "Email me" feature?

As Rick says the procedure to deal with this is clearly laid out, although you seem to be entitled to claim your major victories sometimes it pays to pragmatic and when you are at a minor victory it may be worth taking that result just to end that game, move on and find more reliable opponents. ;)

D-Day_Dodger,
I know the only message I have received from you this year was a simple request about changing your inactive status.

In any case, Foul and RickyB have answered the question you raise in this thread quite clearly.

RE: non-responsive opponents
Bob, I tried emailing you at the addy listed in your profile, but it bounced.

I don't know if I might be one of those people. I know we've had games going in the past. I switched my computer over to Windows 7 and it killed all of my email data. I had to start from scratch.
