Actually there is a method in all SP games.. there is a way to tell units to be moved by the computer.. you can set way-points to follow.. and, unless I am mistaken, I believe you can set an entire formation to move along the way points..
Not used so much I think, but those of you who have played WAW versions with command-control set on will have probably used the utility to save orders.
Some of us don't mind micro-managing our forces :)

I know it's just a matter of personel preference, but for WW 2 combat, I prefer SPWAW for the fallowing reasons. 1) The ability to purchase elite units with better experience ratings then the normal everyday units. 2) Artillery is easier to use in SPWAW. A person doesn't have to wait a turn and a half for your barrage to arrive. 3) Machine guns and automatic weapons seem to be much more effective in SPWAW. I'm a big fan of the 20mm Vireling and the American M16 GMC. The M16 had the nickname of the meat grinder. niether one of these weapons seem to live up to their potentials in SPWW2. These are just a few my reasons. The other's are graphics and sound effects issues. I just prefer SPWAW. I guess the point being, it's what ever you like best.
yep, I've noted the lack of kill power in ww2 with those 2 weapons in particular.. but all the games have player preference..
my biggest issue with waw is the star-trek deflector characteristics of smoke.. and that it lingers.. and lingers.. and lingers.. it seems that no matter the tactics used, the game degrades into a 2 hex range battle fairly quickly because of smoke.. a unit can hide behind smoke with only artillery to worry about.. as abosutely nothing can be fired thru smoke ('z'-fire) to supress things on the other side..
the instant artillery thing.. directed fire is used against fairly stationary targets, or timed to fall to support and attack/withdrawal.. to be able to track targets across the map and get artillery on target at the end of friendly movement is a bit unreal.. I like camo's approach.. planning is needed, and you can't snipe at your opponent's moving troops with 155mm guns using indirect fire...
then, there's the qty of smoke available.. often the number of artillery smoke rounds far exceeds the amount of HE available.. and you can direct-fire all of it in a single turn regardless of your unit's rate of fire..
Just purchased MBT' CD version.. all I can say, is wow, what a huge improvement on graphics and options for the game..
they are all good games, and we could argue endless points of preference, and the blitz site would turn into a massive.. "but I like..., but I like".. blog
For certain, and for sure.. WAW based games and CAMO's games, are like domestic cats.. they meow, shed, purr, eat and sleep.. but right there the similarity stops as the personality of the games are oh, so different...
so my opinion is what it is, and everybody eats their pie differently,
personally, I like my hot apple pie with a slice or two of sharp cheddar melted across the top..
