Buying kit
Lets say you wanted to play a hypothetical SPWW2 game:

Red vs. Green
Both player want to buy kit from "Allies". Both want to buy Brit tanks and US Infantry for example.
How do you get those units to have Red or Green flags rather than British or US flags?
I've tried setting it up in the Editor but both sides seem to get their standard national flags on BOTH sides.

RE: Buying kit
Is it because you are buying the troops as "allied" rather than "Captured"?

When you buy using the Allied button, you get the the tank with a crew from that country...an ally.

Captured means you get the tank, but it is crewed by your guys...so would probably have the Red or Green unit ID flag.

I think that is the problem perhaps.

RE: Buying kit
But I don't think you can buy stuff as captured unless its in that "nations" OOB.
I'm wondering if you can buy a force of mixed nationalities all labeled under one flag for convenience. (because the opposing force could be buying the same "allies").
The idea is that the unit is crewed by your "Green" guys and would therefore also have the same training e.g. 65 exp 65 morale or whatever.
The idea is to have a red or green side with fancy kit "bought" from another nation, and both red and green would be able to buy kit from the same nations.

RE: Buying kit
Hi Bro

I think you have missed a crucial button.

I just did this.

Opened a battle.
Selected Green as my country.
Went to the Buy menu.

Clicked on Allied so I could by troops for Green, from another countries OOB.

In the 'Allied' page, at the bottom left, there is a button called 'Set Captured".

I clicked that, which means the tanks I buy are crewed by "Green" troops.
Then I chose USA (as the place to buy my 'captured' allied tanks), I chose a platoon of tanks.

Finished in the Buy menu and went to human deploy, clicked on Unit ID to get the national flags showing up over each unit...and they all came up with Green Flags (not USA).

As far as I can see it, this is exactly what you want to do, and I think you have failed to notice the 'Set Captured' button which toggles between Set Captured and Set Allied.

When you click it to "Set Allied" you will by units from another nation's OOB with crews from the allied nation, and the Unit ID flags will show the allied nation flag rather than your Green Main flag.

Hope that helps.

RE: Buying kit
Don't know about WW2 but in MBT you can buy from the same nation for both players. The "rebel" side (player 2, IIRC) gets black flags. That was back with ver. 3.0 i think, so it might have changed.

RE: Buying kit
That is correct LB.
P2 in a Civil War gets a Black Flag.
