New Forum Suggestion
Hawk Kriegsman (Erik) had the following idea. What thoughts/suggestions does everyone have? How long should a scenario be a current "spotlight" or should we just open a forum and people can add custom scenario threads when they've played something they liked?

Otherwise you are lacking enough viewpoints to have a discussion.

To be a scenario of the month canidate it should have over 20 games with ratings by at least a dozen members.

If you want to have a custom scenario (and usually newer) discussion then create a seperate forum called "Custom Scenaro Spotlight"

In this forum the designer could describe his scenario, which hopefully could encourage people to play it.

Remember today's Custom Scenario Spotlight could be tomorrow's Scenario of the Month.

Just an idea.

Thanx!

Hawk

No one? :conf:

I think on another thread a couple stated it was a decent idea.

To the designers. If you want to get better exposure for your games this would be an ideal way to do it.

Too bad that their seems to be so little interest on bringing new scenarios to light.

Oh well,

Thanx!

I like the idea. Must have kind of missed the official announcement for it.

I can just have a new forum created and call it "Custom Scenario Spotlight". Then what? We need some functionality ideas I think, but I guess we can just start the forum and people can spotlight whatever/whenever they want(?)

RE: New Forum Suggestion
Sorry I don't have much constructive to add as I am not a scn designer so don't really have a stake in it, but I do think this is a good idea for a new forum, not all new scn's do go through the H2H process and looking through the scn listing there are many games just sitting in the dbase that no one has yet played or even know exist, when designers post new games on the general forum the post is lost into the ether within a day or two but maybe a thread in a forum dedicated to new scenarios with a small write up and some feedback from players and link to the dbase download will get a few more of these lost games played and critiqued. :smoke:
My other idea which maybe not so popular is the ** in front of a scn title is a bad idea as it totally messes up the alphabetical order of things, surely the ** should go at the end of the scn name, that way when trying to find one all you would need to know is it's name, not that it was a new one with a ** in-front surely that is superfluous and makes searching for a game much more cumbersome as looking at the dbase they are in no particular order due to odd spaces and speech marks.:conf:

The new forum has been created. Who like to be first?

Nice to see a lot of action in the forum cheers

For February custom scenario of the month I would like to recommend "**Morning of fire for I/ Panzer Rgt. 26", which is still waiting for an H2H approval.

Very capable, mobile forces for both parties, with a lot of mud involved :)

RE: New Forum Suggestion
That's OK with me, but we never decided on a length of time the scenario should be "spotlighted". I think a month is way too short. Quarterly, 4 a year? Or should we just put up as many as we want/whenever we want; the active ones will gravitate to the top and be "spotlighted" as people post?

RE: New Forum Suggestion
Hello All,

The new forum spotlight should be free for the designers to put up there creations and comments at anytime.

Also playes who come across a fun and relatively unplayed scenario should also post it here.

Then these scenarios get the spotlight put on them through posting and exposure.

Thanx!

Hawk

RE: New Forum Suggestion
So our scenarios have to be approved and in the database before we can post in the new forum?
