I'd like to bring this scn to attention. It was designed by Cam last year.
It is full of action. If you're looking for an intense fight under 20 turns, this one is really fun.
Clicking below will bring you to the page of the scn where you can download it.

I played this recently as the allies. There's a nasty surprise (least I was surprised). I think I got lucky and was able to handle it, but it certainly added to the enjoyment of the scenario. Overall, nice map, lot of armor.

Was this updated from it's original offering last year? :chin:

I remember playing it and it needed work. :dunno:

I think the map was extended somewhat to the west as the first version was too cramped. Apart from that some transports could be halved due to increased capacity since 1.04, but that is true for many scenarios.
I don't know which version you played, but the current version is a very solid design, otherwise I would not have recommended it here.
If it needs improvement, the only way to see that would be to have more statistics. I won it from both sides, so in my experience it is balanced, but statistics will say more as they become available.

You may want to report your second win? :chin:
I see one game report on March 13th where you played the designer.

I played it on March 23rd. My allied opponent was so frustrated that we ended the game and reported a draw. It was not yet entered into the dBASE and it was recorded as a generic scenario.
I will download it, again, and see if any changes were made. :)
As my experience was one of vastly unbalanced, we shall have to agree to disagree? :conf:

I think we best agree to disagree. You have a record of giving all my scenarios, or those in which I helped others, the lowest possible ratings without exception under the banner of "honest opinion". That is your good right, but your opinion on these scns is a rare exception and hardly credible when compared to the majority of other opinions by players. So please don't kill this spotlight with your negativity.
If you don't have something positive to say, say nothing.

Thanks.

Now, now. Negative opinions are OK too. It's all subjective. I had the opposite result from Ed as the allies and my opponent might well consider it unbalanced from a German stand point, based on his experience. Huib's right in that time will tell as the scenario is played by more players and the stats begin to add up.

Sometimes it's hard to calculate balance (at least for me). I try to factor in the abilities of both myself and my opponent. I've been crushed by players I considered superior to me, but have reported the game as balanced, simply because I believe if my opponent had been met with an equally skilled player, it would have been. And vice versa.

Maybe instead of you two wailing on each other, you play it (mirrored) and let us know your results.

Just a thought. :)

Since I have been reading about the Lorraine campaign, I would not mind having a go at this scenario. Scenario description is very interesting.

Either side is OK for me.

Anyone?

EDIT: My turn rate sucks at the mo, unfortunately... One to two turns per week is all I can promise...

First off Dave, I was not "wailing" on anyone. :dunno:
I mentioned my experience from the play of the featured scenario.
In Huib's eyes, I guess I do not have that right if it differs? :chin:

I even thought I might have remembered the wrong scenario and went back to find when I played it and at the same time when the other "member" played it, along with who he played against. I do not see the need for the personal attack by that member on a completely unrelated and personal level, when I was simply stating my opinion of my experience.

Nor do I need to be verbally assaulted, have my opinion dismissed, or belittled by a "certain scenario designer" who feels he must attack me for my opinions, in forum posts.
I cannot help it if his ego is so large that he cannot take any criticism. :kill:
I played quite a few of his "designs" in Tournaments and against a varied number of members with varied styles of play and ability.

I've been told that my designs suck. :eek1: I do not feel the need to defend them. I am not writing future history on what I have made. And, I surely do not feel that I need to revise history to make me look better. :smoke:

If you believe I am wailing then send me an e-mail explaining where, when, and how. I do not want to be pushed into Huib's "box of wailing" with him and being painted with the same wailing brush, only to be censured later for "starting something" that I did not start.

Lastly, I have as much interest in playing Huib as I do playing his scenario designs. :whis: :pig:Whip

cheers
