Engineer Bridge Graphics Question

Engineer Bridge Graphics Question
Hi everyone, new guy here.

I recently started playing Smolensk 41
after putting it aside for years.

I installed the latest patch 1.16.

My question concerns the visual portrayal of bridges created by engineers.

When an engineer builds a bridge, I can see the actual bridge span represented graphically on the map
while in normal 2d mode. See image below.

however, once I zoom to the 2D magnified view
the bridge span graphic disappears. Functionally, the bridge is still
there but graphically it has vanished.
See graphic below.

So, are these graphically vanishing engineer bridges just simply how
the new 2D magnified view is meant to work or do the missing engineer
bridge graphics imply my install is screwed up somehow?

RE: Engineer Bridge Graphics Question
Images posted in post #1 of this thread are from a graphics mod.
FWIW, I can confirm this exists in the stock version too of S41 v 1.16.

RE: Engineer Bridge Graphics Question
Thanks Dog Soldier. That is what I wanted to know.
It is a universal thing and not something peculiar
to my installation.

I wish I could see the bridges in the magnified view
and thought it weird they were vanishing.
Kinda muddies the situational awareness
when using the magnified view.
But, its not that big of a deal.

RE: Engineer Bridge Graphics Question
There are a number of graphics issues with S41 v1.16. Seems to have gone off the rails. See other thread below.

Weird during artillery fire

Send it on to HPS support so they can sort it out.

RE: Engineer Bridge Graphics Question
It seems the same issue exists in other PzC titles as well.

This is from Moscow ’41, with latest 1.05 update. Scenario is: 1002_02: 6th Panzer Breakthrough (#1002_02_Novo-Perovo.scn). Engineer unit is in hex 10, 8 and I am using Jisons MapMod.

With 2D normal view engineer bridge is visible.

When 2D magnified view is active, engineer bridge is missing.

RE: Engineer Bridge Graphics Question
The 2d magnified view must enlarge the game counters but not the sprite for the engineer bridge. The bridge might even be under the magnified counters. Hard to tell. This is unique to the 2d magnified view regardless of using stock graphics or correctly modded graphics. All other views show the bridge just fine in the stock version.

I agree. The 'destroyed bridge' sprite are also suffering from this and does not enlarge in the magnified view. You can see it in its 2D-normal size under the enlarged bridge.

Another anomaly is objectives with vp points higher than 3 digits - in magnified view the fourth digit gets cut in half. I dont know if this maybe has something to do with local font settings on my machines though, so it would need to be confirmed by others.
