Silent Wings Museum
I've driven by the place for years going back and forth to Lubbock but finally took the time the other day while my dad was here to stop by the Silent Wings Museum dedicated to the Glider Pilots of WWII. Very nice place and they've got an actual Waco Glider there and are working on rebuilding a British Horsa glider. I can tell you right now they wouldn't have got my mother's only son up in that thing. Nothing but tubular metal and canvas and duct tape. My hat's off to those brave men who piloted them and the infantry who rode into battle in them. I'll have a whole new appreciation for those units when I play Normandy or Market Garden. If you ever get to Lubbock you should take an hour or so and visit the place.

RE: Silent Wings Museum
I agree, i think most would have rather parachuted in (with all the risks that involves) rather than risk a glider landing, very brave men indeed.
