New small patches for both MBT and WW2
For those who are interested. this is info relating to patches released after the latest main upgrades (WW2 to 7.0 and MBT to 8.0)

latest WW2 Patch Info

Please note: The WinSPWW2v7.11_(2014)_Upgrade patch that is currently available to download replaces the original winSPWW2 version 7.0 patch that had a bug with the visibility change button in the view map screen that caused it to be disconnected from the code that made it work. We re-issued the patch as version 7.1 at the end of March 2014. Recently it was discovered that a line of code for display of the higher resolutions---mainly 1600x1200 but sometimes 1280x1040 as well to be "clipped" and not display properly and this is what the 7.11 version of the 2014 patch resolves that is now available-------however please note this bug does NOT affect the "Desktop" resolution available to extended version (CD) holders. If you are running the DL version of the game there is no need to DL and install the newest version of the 2014 patch as none of the issues affect the DL version and the OOB's are unchanged so there is no affect on secure PBEM. Owners of the extended (CD) version should DL the 7.11 version if they plan to run the game in a resolution other than desktop or if they have the 7.0 version and want to use the change visibility function of the view map screen.

We apologize for this inconvenience

Latest MBT Patch Info

PLEASE NOTE: the WinSPMBTv8_(2014)_Upgrade® patch that is currently available for DL contains a graphics file that was missed in the original v8 patch. That file ONLY affects CD owners who use the Opfire filtering feature of the game. This error was found and corrected early but if anyone does try to use OPFire filtering and they notice buttons are missing it means you have the original V8 DL and need to DL the ®evised version of the V8 patch that is available at shrapnel now ( see the " click here" above.) We apologize for this inconvenience

RE: New small patches for both MBT and WW2
Actually it does. I have the CD and my MBT install has issues with the range filter. The bore-sighting is functional but the drop down screen has nothing where the actual filter values go. I figured I just had a bad install and was waiting til this tourney round was over before doing a re-install.
My CD is an early one. It has to be installed in the program folder to work properly.
Walrus, May I assume the patch is none destructive? I caught my Tourney opponent napping and knocked him down. I'm giving him the ol' boot to the head routine now. I don't think I could catch him by surprise again, so I don't want to bugger the tourney game up.
The other hand is that the 8.0 upgrade caught me with about 5 ladder games and 3 non-Blitz games going. I would like to get back to those opponents before they write me off.

I would be very wary of updating during a game, even with these minor tweaks.
Best to create a second installation, update that to the latest spec and just start any new battles there while finishing off the old with the older instal...minus op-fire controls I guess.

RE: New small patches for both MBT and WW2
No biggie sorta. The only MBT game I have in progress now is a tourney game. I have about 5 opponents on hold, So I won't be surprised if some of them tell me to sod off. I hope not but in a way I can't blame them. I don't want to blow up the tourney game because my opponent made a deployment error and I'm 4 turns away from producing the first win for the Pact. He will not make that mistake again, so I have to take advantage of the moment.

You may want to look at this posting first:

So Opfilter is broken and that in both games, I hope they can fix it soon.

Clear as mud. When he says "op fire" does he mean "op fire filter"? or Range filter? That is what my bug is. The range filter has no text for the options (armor min, max, infantry, soft vehicles, air) and no place to enter the numbers I want. The 'bore sighted' (from Squad Leader) function still works, so the menu is active. If I had to guess, somebody lost a comma. So the code isn't seeing text where it wants text. Propeller Hat

Sorry not sure what he exactly means, I hope you posted your problem at shrapnel, if they are related maybe they can set the pieces together to get a clue what is wrong.

Shrapnel banned me over a decade ago. Before the Invasion of Iraq. I could set up a new persona but don't consider it worth the trouble. Banned me for talkin politics. I wasn't in my opinion but he said it was his opinion that counted. With 200 million plus sites on the internet, I have found it's better to just move on.
The good thing about this is that there is no need to patch, since they haven't fixed the bug. So I can get back to my opponents. GRRRREAAATT!LOL
