RE: AAR PBEM: Leipzig Campaign
Turn 44: The North

The Prussians continue the advance down the pike to Leipzig. The "Pike" is a two movement paved surface. The fastest terrain in the game. Clear is 4 mps and trails are 3mps.

Behind the Prussians are the Russians. This campaign has brought the Russians in from the the south center and north west not the east and north east as was historical. The Prussian are now on the same screen as Leipzig.

There is a whole French INF corps trapped on the river, it is "another" French corps doomed (it cannot be spotted but it is there):

RE: AAR PBEM: Leipzig Campaign
Turn 44:
As the allies in the south I have been keeping two INF and two CAV corps in the lies at any one time. It has allowed me to march up 6 more corps (4 INF and 2 CAV)
The Russian have managed to march up and elite INF corps on the far rightand keep it presence hidden to the French

Turn 44:

The Austrians are or have opened a kilometer hole in the lines of the French II corps and the Young Guard corps. The French have chosen not to back up even one hex. Keep note of the word "back up". IT will be very important over the next few turns:

The Russians make for the dominate hill and keep the forest controlled, this forest has to be controlled to advance on either side.

The previously hidden "elite" Russian INF corps makes it's presence known:

RE: AAR PBEM: Leipzig Campaign
Turn 47:
Take a look at the Austrian losses by corps as of turn 47:
[Image: T47%20BP%20Austrain%20Losses%20by%20Corps.gif]
Over all losses: This is the French attempt to kill the southern allies on day one and the losses of the French IV Corps in the north and the general fighting through out the day
[Image: T47%20Losses.gif]
Here is the disposition of the southern front allied corps:
[Image: T47%20SF%20Zoom%20out%20The%20corps%20of...0Front.gif]
These poor bastards have been hitting Markleesburg time after time and they have finally taken it. Bad move...the flanks were not supported, they were killed to the man in one attack. Seriously, if you can kill 700-1,000 men in one attack, why not. If you can loose a 1,000 men in one attack do this:
1) Back up
2) Run away
3) reinforce
4) Anything to keep from losing that many men in one attack
[Image: T47%20SF%20Markleesburg%20death.gif]
Here is the Austrian Break through:
The arrow line is the show a kilometer and half hole throught the allies lines, on the road to Leipzig
[Image: T47%20SF%20Austrians.gif]
The Russians in the center are preparing for the advance of the French Old Guard Corps and the French Guard CAV Corps[Image: T47%20SF%20Russians%20Center%20retrograde%20movment.gif]
The Russian Right flank makes the move to the middle of the map:

THX, wait until you get to see the "Death Ride" of the French Old Guard

It is amazing to see, all those "A+" 700+ man INF units marching forward, failing to take the Russian Guns, standing in front of the guns, taking fire for 2 turns, now going on three turns...the horror...the horror...

I am learning how to make the posts more interesting, and how to best use the graphics. This will be somewhat of a warm up. I am taking the french in the next PBEM game and I look forward to using what I have learned here and putting it to use.
