Opponent Needed  Hello everybody!
Hello everybody!

I'm the FNG (F::ckingNewGuy) and already looking for an opponent. Helmet Wink

I've got and love WinSPWW2 and WinSPMBT, although I have to admit that I don't have too much experience with PBEM.

From the 3 PBEM-games I played so far, only could be finished because the other opponents dropped out...
I really enjoyed them though and now I hope to find some more reliable enemies here.

If anybody is willing to start a game with me, let me know but keep in mind that I don't know of any Blitz-houserules yet...so some explanation might be necessary.

I'm going on vacation today, so I will be able to get back here on 25th June and I'm hoping to start a game then soon.

Best Regards,
KAreil

RE: Hello everybody!
Welcome to the club and good luck for your games

I don't think we have some "houserules" here, for now there is only a small discussion about balancing force components to not form a "gamey" force.

But setting fixed max values for specific types is also not easy because depending on the map such values might be too high or too low.
So for now if playing a custom battle I would suggest to try replicating historical compositions, that way forces should be "fair" and also suited for the battle ahead.

RE: Hello everybody!
I can give you a game. We can skip the "house rules" by playing a scenario. These days, I prefer MBT over WW2. When you are back, send me a PM if you will be still interested.

RE: Hello everybody!
The beauty of the points is if someone wants to fight the scenario with just tanks, they can. I did that once just because I wanted to do it one time. Barely lost to a combined arms force. You can agree ahead of time that both sides have tanks only or inf only or certain amount per armor, inf and arty or just freelance and buy what you want.

RE: Hello everybody!
The only house rules are:

1. SP Score is the default scoring unless otherwise agreed upon before game start
2. Standard games points are 1.5:1 for delay and 1.75:1 for assault unless otherwise agreed upon
3. No replaying turns
4. No surrounding flags with mines

You may also wish to look into a mentor game.

RE: Hello everybody!
Hi there,

I would be happy to help you along with the game.. weasel said something about a mentored game.. thsts where an experienced player takes a newbie and coaches as much ss possible. The game result really makes to difference as the mentor player can only claim a draw at best.. but the student may claim the appropriate victory if the mentor gets beat..

If interested, I would prefer to use ww2 as it is less technically complex, and ihmo a better way to lesrn the game.

reach me at: [email protected]

cheers!
