Revised Scoring Proposal Poll
I would like to post a poll on the revised scoring system proposed a few weeks ago, which received broad support. Do I start here by ticking box below?

RE: Revised Scoring Proposal Poll
Sorry, but am I missing something? Where has there been 'broad support' for this? I have seen one post say 'interesting' and one say they thought of it too and they want extra points for running off the map.
As I said, you MUST do a study, not just dream stuff up, get two votes and say you want it that way. AFAIK SP SCORE has worked fine for almost 10 years with no complaints except by a very minority few. It was voted in years ago by a large (LARGE) number of players, not a few.
There is a certain chain of events that have to occur before anything can be done, and so far none of them have been achieved.

Dear Weasel, I imagine you are missing nothing, however I suspect that the lack of response is due to utter apathy of current players either to read stuff let alone respond. As you also know, just because "we have always done it this way" doesn't mean it is right or good or the best way. With your permission I would like to conduct a more active approach to current or played within 1 year Blitzers to canvass opinion and see if there is any real support for a poll on this. I have a feeling that some players who are on the wrong side of .5 lose interest in our ladder because they make an equal amount of effort as those they play but their reward, or lack thereof, is disproportionately dismal; almost certainly true of those who join for 2-3 games, get soundly beaten in all, then disappear - though I have no stats to back this up, just a feeling in the water. Anyway...
Please may I email players individually to provoke a response? THIS is my study.
Many Thanks

RE: Revised Scoring Proposal Poll
Once again, your revised scoring system does not just affect us, it will affect the entire Blitz as all ladders are balanced against each other. So even if 100% of players said they wanted it does not mean it will come in because it would require rewriting the DB system and balancing all the ladders once again. Also to note is this system may put players gaining ranks far more quickly than on another board, which would mean the games would be scored at a decreased amount to balance the ladders once again. I believe the CS games only award a max of 20 points for an OW win because the games play much faster so you report far more of them.
it isn't just a matter of lets change the world, which is why I said you had to do a study; contact the other board moderators and find out how long a ME/ADV/ASS game takes to play (average number of turns, physical time it takes to play the turn etc) and what is the scoring for each. Compare all to each other, average and see what comes of it; this is your idea so it is up to you do to the leg work on it. I do remember when we rebalanced the boards about 5 years ago (if not longer) an SP game was one of the slowest to play with replay, around 35-45 minutes while I think CS took 10 minutes (just a guess there).
You may post a poll if you like, no one is ever stopped from doing that for anything, but until all the relevant data is assembled, provided to me which I will then provide to the officers of the club who will look it over, discuss it and give a thumbs up or down nothing will happen. Even then Raz is very very busy with RL and working on Venus so it still would probably take a long time to come in if approved.
