Black Sea Discussions
A lot of stock CMBS maps have got hollow objective areas like this, and in tests I discovered that if you move a unit inside such an area, you get NO objective points at the end of the game, but if you sit the unit on the yellow border, you DO get points for it which seems crazy to me or am I missing something? Why didn't the map designers fill in the whole area with yellow?

Hm.. quite strange, but nice finding since i have 2 games going with such hollow shaped areas and i wasn't exactly sure how to handle it.

I assume the purpose of such areas is to negate the effect of a few enemy hidden units which might nullify in the end the possession of the objective.

Yeah it is a bit of a strange difference isn't it. I do not recall any discussion about it. My vote would be that Raz has it right.

Yes I think Raz has cracked it!
It can be a pain having to comb through a whole solid yellow area searching for the last enemy soldier, so a yellow border with only a few trees and buildings on it cuts down the number of places he can hide..:)

APS can intercept T-HEAT rounds

At least it can in the game, but I'm not sure if it can in real life?
But CM Black Sea is set in the future so I suppose anything's possible then..:)
Here my T-90 at bottom right fires a T-HEAT at DB_Zero's Abrams, but the Abrams APS intercepts it and blows it out of the sky a few feet in front of the tank (inset)-

I don't think that AP rounds are supposed to be intercepted by APS. Do not forget that a T90 can fire ATGM via the main gun. So, the question is what did the T90 fire?

RE: Black Sea Discussions
I re-ran the turn to check, here are the T-90 ammo quantities before firing-
125mm ABHE 16
125mm T-HEAT 8
AT-11 ATGM 4
125mm APFSDS 14

And after firing, the T-HEAT had dropped to 7, but the rest were unchanged.
So the Abrams APS system must have made the HEAT round detonate before hitting the tank.
I don't know why the T-90 crew didn't fire a solid APFSDS.

PS- Does anybody know what an ABHE shell is?
And what does the T stand for in T-HEAT?
The only one I know is APFSDS (Armour Piercing Fin Stabilised Discarding Sabot)

RE: Black Sea Discussions
Yes, HEAT rounds sometimes fire with a lower muzzle velocity. Someone would have to check the speed for the THEAT rounds and see if they fall inside the Trophy's operational range but it is a possibility.

Edited to add: personally I would assume that the model is taking the right numbers into account. If someone shows the numbers mean the THEAT round should not have been intercepted it would be a bug.
