East Prussia 14 question
Much as I love Jison's work, I hate having the hex outlines compulsory, can anyone tell me if you can switch them off in East Prussia 14, before I think about buying it?

Thanks

Peter

Something like this?

Late edit. Thanks to all the modders out there, Devine, Jison, Phillippe, Volcano and many more.
Cheers Sandy

Yes! Just like that. Thanks, SandySandie. It's an option, is it, not a mod?

It is an option. If you squint, you will see an icon at the top that is a hex outline---it is as easy as clicking it on and off. I think all Tiller games have this.

Hi Peter,

Actually you have that info the wrong way round,in his instructions Jison always suggests that you should have the hex outlines OFF in conjunction with his mods, the hex outlines are always on by default when you load the title, to turn them off you go to "settings" (top of the screen) and un check hex outlines. RE: East Prussia 14 question
Yes, there are two outlines here. The game defaults to have the hex outlines on, which is generated by the game, and then there is a very faint grid on the texture file itself. The latter cannot be turned off unless you edit the artwork as a mod (like what SandySandie is using), but we felt that the faint outline was better than none at all.

There is always a way to customize each game to get exactly what you are looking for. :)

RE: East Prussia 14 question
Thanks Volcano Man. I thought it must be a mod, as if I apply Jison's map to Kharkov 43 I have a compulsory grid. This I get round by not applying all the mod, mixing and matching mods. But then I would like to know what SandySandie is using to achieve this, if possible. They're such great maps. It really spoils them (for me - spoils immersion) to have the hex grid there. Though I realise most people probably prefer it (I assume that's the case otherwise you wouldn't have made the change, in effect, to a compulsory grid, when all the previous JTS games allowed you to switch it off very easily.)

Thanks all.

Peter

RE: East Prussia 14 question
uncheck Settings-> Hex Outlines in the menu bar. Is that the grid you are talking about? As Volcano Man noted, Jison's tiles have faint hex outlines built in, though. Personally, I like both the game engine's hex outlines and the elevation lines (hexagonal icon at top of page in icon bar) on with Jison's mods, but my eyes like the rest of me, are gettin' kind of old....

To each his own
