Ummm i think that the problem is in know who is UK and who is not UK between canadians and dutch troops... in PzC usually UK troops are the light brown (cream maybe???) and aussies a darker brown BUT in Normandy i think we have the Canadians THAT in PzC Normandy are in a colour like orange and duch troops uses a even more clear brown than UK in Market Garden.

1) Lufttwaffe (by portrait i think in navy but by box i think in lufftwaffe)
2) Heer
3) SS
4) US
5) US Airborne
6) French
7) Canadian (or dutch???)
8) Polish
9) Belgiam
10) Dutch (or canadian???)
11) British Airborne
12) British

Thanks ComradeP.

I remember seeing this message and ignoring it for two reasons. Firstly it was his second guess (and before the guess extension!). Secondly he hedged his bets on 7 & 10.

The hedging alone could/would get an answer 'ignore' status :)

I'll reference this answer once I announce the final break out of nationalities during the weekend.

Ah come on, enough with this... Smile
Please tell us the title (working title) of the game and the scenario (as we all suspect by now its Normandy 1944).
All this teasing...please give us some solid facts about the game.

Boy - no one has any patience these days!! Helmet Wink

The equivalent thread for Panzer Battles Kursk - here https://www.theblitz.club/message_boards...?tid=65518 went for 78 pages and 776 posts! We're only up to page 9!!

Once the title is confirmed/released we'll have nothing to talk about...! More on that later in the weekend...

Ok, we're definitely not going to have anything to talk about going forward...! Helmet Smile

As asked on page 5 of this thread here was the teaser screen. All were asked to (initially) have one guess of the 'nationalities' in the correct order as shown here;

[Image: PB%20Graphics%20188.png]

Here is the same screen with the unit ID's included;

[Image: PB%20Graphics%20197.png]

The correct order was;

1. Luftwaffe
2. Wehrmacht/Heer
3. SS
4. US Army
5. US Airborne
6. Free French
7. Canadian
8. Polish
9. Belgian
10. Dutch
11. British Airborne
12. British Army

No one got it within the terms of the competition... Xaver put a second answer in before the extension AND he sat on the fence regarding Canadians vs Dutch. Davemic got them all but in the wrong order, Outlaw Josey Wales, sent me a private message after his three picks and got the order correctly.

As far as the map section as per below;

[Image: PB%20Graphics%20167.png]

Davemic was inspired with his map craft - here is the same section of map with named locations on....

[Image: PB%20Graphics%20186.png]

Remember this shown section of the map only represents the shown square below in the jump map;

So it's pretty obvious now that we are in Normandy and/or environs - any ideas on the battle(s) covered?

RE: Panzer Battles 2 - The Official Teaser Thread
The day finally rises...the longest day ;)

Luftwaffen-Jäger-Regiment 31 = (16. Luftwaffen-Feld-Division)
Ost-Bataillon 795 = (709. Infanterie-Division)
SS-Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment 22 = (10. SS-Panzer-Division 'Frundsberg')
53d Armored Infantry Bn = (4th Armored Division)
326th Airborne Engineer Bn = (101st Airborne Division)
Régiment Blindé de Fusiliers-Marins = (2e Division Blindée)
Les Fusiliers Mont-Royal = (2nd Canadian Infantry Division)
1st Belgian Independant Brigade 'Piron' = (6th Airborne Division)
10 Pulk Dragonow (Zmotoryzowanych) = (1 Dywizja Pancerna)
Prinses Irene Brigade = (6th Airborne Division)
1st Battalion, Royal Ulster Rifles = (6th Airborne Division)
11th Battalion, Royal Scots Fusiliers = (49th (West Riding) Infantry Division)

With information on the oob we can think (dream) :
D-Day !! operation Overlord.
Cotentin Peninsula fighting.
Battle of Cherbourg.
Battles for Caen.
Operation Cobra.
Battle of the Falaise Pocket.
Operation Paddle.

This is monstruous...;)

PS : A note on towns names.
We can add or change the names ??
I know that the Anglo-Saxons are at war against the accents..:)
Two small errors :
St-Hilaire-la-Girard = St-Hilaire-la-Gérard (a "e" is not "i")
la Ferriere-Bochets = la Ferrière-Béchet (a "e" is not "o")
;)

As far as Anglo-Saxon misunderstanding of accents - yes we have no idea. Dave Blackman did the map. I have adjusted a few areas here and there but have no clue on any 'right' spellings.

Yes we can fix - see below. But we would need a French speaker to identify every error for us to correct it. It's bad enough we are dealing with two types of English - US and 'proper' Commonwealth English!!!

RE: Panzer Battles 2 - The Official Teaser Thread
Ah well, I guess I should've swapped Belgian and Polish and posted another guess yesterday, as that was more or less the only remaining option. The people guessing later/last had a significant advantage anyway. I'm happy we got sort of close.

I found some pictures with the Poles and black berets, but for some reason decided to guess them as Belgians.

All the guesswork did make it difficult to guess which of the later nationalities were right and wrong when we thought the first was Kriegsmarine.

By the way Strela, I'd be more than happy to do some proofreading on the visual OOB, like last time.

Also: did they change the way image searches on Wikipedia work recently? Previously, I could find images in a certain category fairly easily, but now everything seems different and much less practical. I might just be missing something.
