RE: Panzer Battles 2 - The Official Teaser Thread
Thanks for the leak, now we can say that is 99% sure PzB2 is going to be "PzB Normandy 44: ?????"

The map is simple words huge!!! this made me think that is not imposible at all see a full map to cover Crusader specially when is empty of human presence Helmet Wink

Well, i think all guys here have the same question in mind... when? with scen test the release time could be sometime between 2 months or next year around february... i am curious about scen testing, for example in "Middle East 48-82" they test scens in AI VS AI stress test... you only test human VS AI/human or you run to AI VS AI test???

Again thanks for the leak and well, i think now you can start leaking OOB, there are a looooot of diferent formations to leak Big Grin

Looks great !
Is there any indication on how far you are toward release ?
Would you say 75% or 80% ?
I dont want a date just a rough "we have probably xx% done".

We are well along.

We have most items complete. We have a number of scenarios left to finish and then test. We still have a fair bit that 'could' be done on the 'secret' new feature and that is the item that will flex the schedule.

In a perfect world gamers should be seeing the game under their Christmas tree....  Xmas4

Well, we are not in a perfect world... we dont have yet PzB2 in our HDs Big Grin2

The last fixes... allways with unexpected bugs dug-in ready to attack your rear Whistle

That secret feature... in the end game is irrelevant, the point is in secret feature, the 18 months of hard working in PzB2 is only camouflage, maskirova... to hide it to "enemy" recon  Helmet Wink

We need a poll to vote what we think is going to be the secret feature hehehe.

Absolutely beautiful map at that zoom level.

It seems the measurements I calculated were primarily off to the west.

I'm wondering if, at this scale, naval guns are included as off-map artillery in some scenarios close to the beachheads.

Very nice looking map images.  Boy, that thing is big!

Those naval images are interesting however, the background images of the Sherman (at the bottom) and the tall pine trees don't fit just right.  It looks like the ships ran ashore!   Wink

I know there is not much that can be done about it.

Thanks for sharing.

There is a plain background for those that don't want their fleets high and dry. Unfortunately this is an all or nothing approach. We can't just do it for one or two units.

I am curious about the power of naval arty in game... maybe for me it need a special sytem to made it "harder" to use i think in use for that "ultra heavy arty" the same plot system from WWI serie and well, i asume that a salvo of heavy naval arty fill the arty stack use over the hex no???

The naval background... maybe you can create for the naval portrait an integrated background, i refer that the image cover all the unitbox and the normal unitbox in under the portrait not visible.

But in the art area in my case i prefer see a mod to have black SS counters/blackground and grey for regular army (and with this you can use stock luftwaffe blue or the actual regular army "blue" as you wish).

And another question about art, the german infantry portrait showed in the Cherbourg scen is final or you are going to use other???

Thanks.

PD: i never ask this but in BBs, BCs and CAs that usually had 6inches guns as secondary armament... they have special bonus in firepower when range of target is inside their range??? think that BBs usually had more firepower in secondary battery than a CL main battery.

Xaver,

I didn't setup the values for the naval units, the original team did. That said there are predominantly destroyers or smaller in each scenario and only occasionally capital ships. Naval artillery fires like normal artillery with one shot per turn.

As far as the naval portrait, yes you can do that for the top of the picture, but not from the unit name plate down. That utilises the default unit box.

Finally, as mentioned previously you can mod the counter colours - it's not hard. What is harder is if you want the counter background right. That would require every graphic to be recoloured. Here is some examples I knocked up in five minutes. The units on the left have the counter and unit background done. The units on the right only have the counter surround recoloured - that's a thirty second job. Please note that the actual unit graphics were never intended to be on counters this dark...
