Sibret Conundrum

Or do I go with a two turn pull back? Keeps the 1-328th safe from further harm but exposes the cut off 3-318th. Its isolated/Low Ammo at Morale E and Fatigue 32.

A few artillery rounds to Disrupt the 3-318th then an assault by his 2nd SS pioneers or even the 5th FJD IF it recovers disruption next turn? 3-318th loses a few hundred men??

German Turn 58 - the south
[Image: 2015-10-24_19h49_36.png]

The 1-319th was selected as the main target by Pz Lehr. 41 men lost in taotal and it disrupted. The 3-319th was left alone but Sods Law meant that it suffered Ammo Low????

A 5th FJD Bn followed up and the 2-22nd and 25th Cav were hit by artillery. I think however that artillery was reduced for the reasons that Cesar mentioned inhis email...my counterbattery fire last turn.

In the far south a strange move. He brought up a 212th VGD Bn and left it there? Ok he might be testing to see if I'm still there but why not pull it back after no opportunity fire was triggered? Is he wanting to draw out my artillery and counterbattery anything in Clear terrain?
212th is a reasonable unit as its a Morale B unit. Funnily enough the Fusileer unit is Morale C?

Apologies to anyone following this but I've not been too well hence the delay in posting. End of turn
results below.

Basically I didn't inflict many losses on Cesar. Very little counterbattery fire this turn, although I did try some and it didn't work so I gave up. I'm up against a new opponent and at the moment my best strategy is to to dig I think, and wait.

Elsenborn Turn 58 Allied
[Image: 2015-10-30_20h34_21.png]

Operation Exodus II in full swing. I realise that his main assault force is a rag tag bunch of tanks but I suspect that he has something behind it/ Possibly 12th SS?

So I'll run to the woods just now but leave a stack (A) for him to pound if he goes this way. I have to delay him as I have artillery units to evacuate from the clear terrain.

741st Tank Bn moved north and found 326th units digging in? Mmmh well maybe he will dig in with the rest?

2-18th/3-18th dished out some hurt on the 12th VGD.

I used artillery against the 277th stack and I noticed that after I hit end in my turn that they had disrupted. Thats the first time I've checked this.

Spa Turn 58 Allied
[Image: 2015-10-30_21h47_20.png]

Not much happened here so not much showing on the map. I'm digging in where possible.

D/745th TNK's were spooked and bugged out and did bump into something sneaking past them. I expected a FJD Bn but its VGD Fus Bn? I moved the 2-33rd back in case there is 'somthing bad' comeing.

I used artillery on the 150th Pz Bde armour and although no losses it looks like it disrupted.

I pulled out 1-120th and put in the 2-117th at Spa.

I actually think that he is stronger than me but is waiting on something?

Werbomont Turn 58 Allied
[Image: 2015-10-31_16h36_52.png]

Not a great area for me. Not much artillery available and the armour from 116th Pz Div armour to worry about. No reserves to speak of either. I'm also now conscious of how easy it is to isolate units. Once isolated rescue will be impossible so positioning is critical. The clear terrain is perfect for his armour and Panthers are artillery proof. I suspect they will make an appearance next turn here.

740th Tank didn't fire or dig? I forgot this unit somehow.

8th Rifles targeted his 75mm thinking they would be an easy target but only received a lot of pain and no joy. The 31st Tank Bn tried his Pioneers but switched to the 75mm as well. No losses inflicted but 2 more fatigue hits.

I've decided to dig in with the British armour. 3rd RTR are B units so can maybe survive a few shots from his 116th Pz infantry. They lost 2 tanks last turn and will probably lose 2 more this turn.

At Bra the 17th/40th Tank Bn's had an easy target and took the opportunity. I pulled back the 2-335th and left the 2nd FFY. I should have dug in rather than fire with them.

Braque - La Roche Turn 58 Allied
[Image: 2015-10-31_16h38_28.png]

Will shorten this as my last post was bombed out and I'm beginning to get fed up......

Assaults against unit A and B failed. 2-333rd did take out 5 Flak guns but failed to disrupt the unit so never go the hex. Recce/2HCR was disrupted by Werfer so had to withdraw north.
The 1-333rd failed miserably with no losses to either side.

If the 560th VGD Bn undisrupts then he might attempt an assault after artillery fire disrupts the AC/2HCR. There is also the possibility that he might assault 1-333rd using his armour stack in T mode, again after artillery fire disrupts it. (the Baraque hex is a forest)

Hopefully he will react to the moves in the south to his Pioneers.

Bertogne - Bastogne Turn 58 Allied
[Image: 2015-10-31_16h39_07.png]

As agreed with Cesar/Indragnir I've downgraded my BUNKER by moving units out and back in again. The 237th Engineers now occupy the Bunker. No losses weer incurred during the juggling.

F/2-424th pulled back in the north and I'll ferry this across the river next turn.

The 705th TD Bn decided to test the FBB defenses and lost 2 tanks to defensive fire and a further tank to artillery. All for 2 Flak guns/vehicles. I don't think I'll be repeating this exercise.

Sibret - Sainlez Turn 58 Allied

Well when I looked at the situation earlier I had the option of pulling out the ISOLATED 3-318TH near Sainlez by using the 1-328th in T mode. Or I  could sit tight and try for a two turn break out. I ended up doing something else.

Thats how it looked when I clicked on the 1-328th, it looks like it can move to the adjacent hex allowing the 3-318th to move ZOC to ZOC. Unfortuantely this move was not allowed by the game engine?

This is what happened. After finding out that the 1-328th couldn't move adjacent I decided to try assaulting out. I used all 4 artillery Batallions of the 80th Diivision to pound the SS Recon unit stacked with the disrupted 5th FJD Bn. I inflicted 6 losses. I then gambled and tried an assault by the 3-318th. It failed. I think he had one surviving armoured car left possibly undisrupted but it didn't matter as the 3-318th disrupted.

2-318th and 1-318th were pulled back in support. The 3-328th were moved up.

I also pounded his army Pioneers to try and disrupt them as the 3-318th is now ripe for assaulting.

Just to make matters worse I haven't a unit free that can move adjacent to the 3-318th next turn except the 1-328th which I hope recovers from disruption next turn.

The south Turn 58 Allied
[Image: 2015-10-31_16h40_51.png]

At Warnach I've trapped his 5th FJD unit. The 249th Engineers lost 8 men moving up.

The lead units of 80th Division (305th Engineers/D coy 702nd) meet Pz Lehr units.

Artillery is used against his 5th FJD.

The 11/12th Tank Bn's hit the exposed 212th VGD Bn in the south.

The 1-317th and 2-317th are a bit exposed but will attempt to hold. I don't think he will pull back.
