OOB Questions
Couple of questions about the (impressive) OOB.

1. Why do some TD units have HQs and some don't?

2. Why are Tank Battalion Company HQ's (for both US and Brit units) not included in the company they command? Look at the 1-66th Tank Battalion. It has HQs for A, B, and C company, but these HQs are not inside the A, B, and C company Org. Doesn't this mean they can command anything in the Battalion?

3. Similarly, why aren't company 60mm mortars included in their respective companies, but rather included in the HW company? I don't recall that company assets would be spread out over other companies in the battalion.

Curious

RE: OOB Questions
1) Non-engineer independent battalions (corps assets) have their own HQ's, presumably to make sure an HQ is always nearby. Non-divisional combat engineers usually don't have an HQ so they can be used without suffering from the combined organization penalty when assaulting together with divisional units

2&3) In BoN, HQ vehicles and mortars from different companies are assigned to a higher level so they can be combined to reduce clutter (more 2-3 vehicle/gun units would make the game more cumbersome to play, and it would significantly increase German interdiction losses) and make the individual units more efficient. This explanation is in the design notes somewhere. It also makes their size similar to the actual tank platoons.

I see. That's reasonable (although I went ahead and modded it all anyway ;-)

JSGME is the greatest thing!
