Just found this, a very original idea:

War of Rights (Campfire Games)

A realistic shooter in the same vein as Squad, War of Rights is instead set during the American Civil War. It was kickstarted back in 2015 and is due to enter Early Access sometime this year.

A realistic shooter in the same vein as Squad, War of Rights is instead set during the American Civil War. It was kickstarted back in 2015 and is due to enter Early Access sometime this year.

I know this is an old thread but... I really love War of Rights, its one of the best looking games I've ever seen, and the level of detail is fantastic... but you must invest a lot of time to enjoy it. 

The game is easy to play, but you cannot just play on a random server (there aren't many anyway). You must join a clan/regiment and take part in their events and schedules, which I think puts a lot of people off - ALTHOUGH, its very fun when you play a clan game against another serious team.
