HSL, Ed good to hear from you, how have you been?

I can go along with most if it except the halftrack cruising out to draw enemy armor op-fire. I suspect it would be a difficult thing to persuade a halftrack driver to do that operation. Of course I don't know any half track drivers; I have never actually seen one; maybe that is why they are so scarce :-)
Actually heard of one that bought a halftrack from military surplus back in the late 60's. He used it to roam around the north woods of NH. He stopped to cut down a tree that was blocking his path and was beset upon by a forest ranger being as he was currently in the White Mountain National Forest range. Assault factor was immediately reduced to zero as was the morale. It is unclear if the ranger had a truck.Yes that is a true story :-)
Halftracks are not always our friends :-(

We're arranging a mandatory 10-hour insurance seminar for him in downtown Hartford, as we speak.
I should flag Scud for that one....cruel and unusual I say...isn't there something in the Geneva Accords that outlaws insurance seminars?

Now you've made me sad Earl. No halftrack, the friend unit, should be treated in such a fashion.
If that army surplus halftrack still had her .50 cal...I bet that Ranger would have found reverse...and lived to harass another camper another day...

John,
I was going to e-mail you. I hope all is well with you?
I have my ups and downs. As long as my eyes open and I don't see dirt above me I'll keep moving.
A good half track "friendly debate" makes me smile.

RE: Friendly Halftrax Debate
I think the empty half-track seem to be interpreted differently from player to player.
In my view, one should consider what the creator of the game has had in mind by providing an empty half-track with non zero assault factor and firing capabilities.
Given the depth of the game and how many details are taken into account in the game engine, I find it unlikely that the non zero assault factor is an oversight.
And if it is not an oversight, then maybe the intention of the designer was that empty half-track is something more than a vehicle and the bloke behind the wheel....
We probably never find out for sure unless the creator chips in to the discussion...
The main problem is that we would not be able to enjoy those colorful half-track debates in the forum 😁

RE: Friendly Halftrax Debate
Screw it...I'm just going to add my own type of halftrack to be the mother of all other halftracks...
...I'll just get with Warhorse...he'll show me how to add them to JTCS through all those fancy codes...
...and I'll use them to draw OP fire...CAUSE THEY'LL FIRE BACK!!!
...and yes they can obliterate platoons of loaded or unloaded trucks LIKE ORCAS DINING ON A SEAL COLONY...
...and I can use them to get even with Dan Caviness for the time he outclassed me on the beaches of southern England during Sealion...he made me quit under the pressure...HE REMEMBERS I'M SURE!!!
...ok...ok...no more beer (until later)
