That I can confirm.

Bought three SB games today, already own Red Victory.

First World War, The Proud and The Few and Vietnam.

The most recent PatF installer does not come with the original graphics in the Notes folder. So I downloaded the update file and it did include the original graphics.

Afterwards I treated the original graphics like a mod with JSGME - with some tweaks to suit my taste. Very nice to have the original 2D unit art, would not have purchased any additional SB games without a choice of art style. It is a pity that Jison isn’t interested in sprinkling his mod magic on the SB and PzB series.

Eyeballing AotR, ES, SAW and MW for later this year.
But right now I am oversaturated with JST titles

Checked all the update files

SAW has the original unit graphics zip in the main game directory.
Grenada and Eagle Strike do not have any original unit graphics included.

If you have an interest in WWII Western Theater, Eagles Strike (ES) is a must-have title, in my book.

Eagles Strike and Red Victory are my two favorite titles from the series.

What is so bad about the top down? I think the old ones look kinda lame with the side view thing going on.

I readily accept your advice, but had to make a choice - or I could go on adding games to my shopping cart. 

The missing art is a good excuse for the time being.
ES is high on “the list” though.

Since you are asking.

It is a matter of taste, I know there is a lot of sentimental feeling going on and a kinda homage thing in the community, but I am not a fan (sorry). The original unit art is a mixed bag, some better than others, but preferable.

To criticize is easy though, to create an alternative is something else.
Maybe, I’d like to try - but it would require a serious effort and also skill to make it worthwhile. Who knows.

It is a shame that Jison chose to redo his PzC mods instead of looking at other games first, but it is his mod and time.

Everyone involved is doing great work keeping this all going, so please do not take this the wrong way, no criticism intended, just personal preference.

IMHO, I find top-down units impersonnal, and for differenciate units in a few second I prefer the old unit graphism !
I hope someone make a mod with the older unit graphism !

I agree, I also find the top-down unit graphics impersonal, and prefer the old unit graphics. I'd appreciate a way to revert my unit graphics BACK to the original for each SB title. Is it possible ?

From what has been stated in this thread, the following JTS Direct Download versions of the following 3 titles are missing the "Original Unit Graphics" (non-top-down view):

Eagles Strike
SB Demo--Grenada
The Proud and the Few



Are there any others or is this it?
