Can Anyone From JTS Or WDS Answer These Questions

Can Anyone From JTS Or WDS Answer These Questions
Not trying to be disrespectful, but seems almost every time we get an update to the Tiller operational games (Panzer Campaigns/Modern Campaigns) we also get a few added features to the Scenario and OOB Editors. Usually these are in the form of check boxes, with absolutely no explanation of their effects given in any documentation that comes along with the update.

Example: In the just released Modern Campaigns Gold updates, the OOB editor now has check boxes for "mountain unit" and "irregular unit" designations. How are these used, and what are their purposes and effects? Are they even active within the editor code? Can we please get some sort of documentation about these type things? Prior to this, there were (and still are) check boxes for "particle beam" and "unmanned" designations. These were not (and still haven't been that I'm aware of) explained either. Mention is made here and there in various titles of being able to designate different Nations as "fragile morale" or "fanatical". Where are these features hidden, and how do we make use of them when designing or modifying a scenario? Are they a function of the Scenario Editor or OOB Editor?

In some scenario notes, mention is made of being able to designate objectives as "National Surrender" locations, but no documentation on how to use the editors to do so is provided. Why? If the designer of France '40 Gold can make use of such a feature (and says so in his his notes) why can't we ordinary users?

The Tiller operational games are great value for the money, and WDS does an exceptional job with the Gold updates. However, documentation leaves a lot to be desired. When can we expect to see a little work done in that area or failing that, a short explanation of what all these new features do, and how we can use them ourselves?

Hi 76mm,

I’m currently travelling and hence the delayed reply.

We will discuss what needs to be updated in the manuals because as you point out new features have been included since the last revision in 2017.

Great, thanks David, take your time.  Would be great to have more info on all of this when you have a breather.

All,

Ed Williams has sent my some info on "mountain unit" and "irregular unit" etc as they are being introduced for the FWWC series and will be included in the manuals for that series. We will include other details such as fragile nations and surrender objectives for PzC etc. The manuals for PzC and MC will be updated progressively over the year.

Sounds good David. Thanks for the consideration. Looking forward to seeing that information!
