Strange ellipse on Jump Map

Every now and then I got an ellipse on the jump map, I think I have seen it on PzC, MC and now on FWWC.

I was unable to find an answer on the manuals, anybody knows what it means?

It's the command range of the selected formation.

i may have to update the manual(s)!

Thank you for the quick answer, well I haven't checked the updated manual of PzC, maybe it's there.

On page 48 of the PZC manual has the following:

When an organization is Highlighted on the map, then an oval is drawn on the Jump Dialog showing the approximate extent of that organization.

Hi David,

are you sure? I do not own the FWWC, but in all other games it marks all units from the same organisation with currently selected unit.

Sorry if I´m wrong here as as I´ve said, I do not own FWWC, yet

I have tried and the elipse appears if you select an HQ and press the highlight organization button.

And this is a very useful function to find stray units that wandered far away from their main organisation.
