Installing without a CD reader (pre Gold)

How can I install a CD copy of an HPSSIMS version (pre Gold) on a laptop without a CD reader?

Can I just copy the folder contents, or are registries in play?
Can I convert the CD copy onto a memory stick?

If you have the CD send a picture of it to Rich at JTS support  and he will give you a code to upgrade to the gold version if you have the old CD.
