Hi everyone,
Yes, I know I have been quiet since the teaser thread and have neither confirmed or denied anything - all in good time!
Of interest we continue to adjust the graphics that were shown in the WDS blog post and this thread. They will be locked down by the time the next game in the PzC series is released, but we are focused on making them as good as we can in all situations. I have also spent time tidying up the smaller zoom graphics and am pretty happy with them.
Probably the most contentious thing that was suggested in the changes was the adjustment to fortifications and obstacles/minefields. I wanted to share the latest thinking and get opinions from the members here.
We have essentially gone back to what was shown in the Gold releases - but in higher resolution. The one big change I wanted feedback specifically on was minefields/obstacles. In this first screen shot, we're showing the minefields with both a tab with the number of mine factors as well as a red hexagon and a representation of the number of mines in the hex. Obstacles are the same with a gray/brown hex border, tab and obstacles in hex (all images can be right clicked for full size);
Here is the same image, but with the hex border removed;
Also note the changes to fortifications which essentially have the tab with the first letter of the entrenchment type as well as the colour coded hex border.
In this second series of shots, you can see similar defenses on the beachfront. Here they are with hex borders;
And again the equivalent shot without the hex borders on the mines/obstacles;
Please note the scenarios these shots were taken from have a ground condition of mud and hence the overall brown hex colours. The graphics shown for everything else like rivers etc are the latest iteration as well. Things like the light bulb effect have been toned down. I have also built the non-hex versions and will share some shots with those soon as well.
Thanks,
David
Let me know your thoughts on both entrenchments and mines/obstacles.
