RE: PUBLIC EVENT LOG

Bucarest

România liberă reports:
"To the surprise of everyone, unconfirmed reports say that Romanian troops that yesterday abandoned Turda area after some serious combat, seems to have executed a limited counterattack. The counterattack in mention apparently spoiled Hungarian well prepared and synchronized attack, leading to a series of serious clashes where both parties extensively used air and artillery support. Even though losses on both sides are said to be rather moderate compared to yesterday's action, it seems that Hungarian attack was halted for the entire day.
Romanians have good reason - Soviets are said to be closing by, yet by unconfirmed reports, wavering Hungarians were granted very serious Luftwaffe support that has successfully rebased around Debrecen in Hungary, close to the front.
Romanian hearts are also warming up as several captured Toldi tanks were seen in the hands of King's troops.

(...)

In other news: STAVKA officially announced that Tartu Offensive is over. The Soviets are victorious and nearly all of Estonia seems to be in their firm control. The French 2nd Corps liberated town of Chalon-sur-Saône on the edge of Vosges Mountains, an important milestone in their march on Strassbourg. In the meantime, Polish Free Forces liberate Belgian town of Ypres, dreadfully known to the Allies for Great War atrocities. Palau Islands are said to be assaulted by US Navy, reports say Task Force 38 is in play. Furthermore, British Government announced that it easens up blackout restrictions due to diminishing German air threat, as well as suspends compulsory training for Home Guard Members.

Polish Underground sources leak some sad news: friar Jan Czartoryski, renown chaplain of the fading Warsaw Uprising has been killed in combat..."
