'Red Star over Europe' cross compatible with Vietnam AND TOD

RE: 'Red Star over Europe' cross compatible with Vietnam AND TOD
I just tried AIW using ToD as a base and only a couple of scenarios worked. Most would give an error when starting.
Gen. Montgomery: "Your men don't salute much."
Gen. Freyberg: "Well, if you wave at them they'll usually wave back."

Can you tell me which scenarios that happened with? I will try them out and see if I get the same result.

I've removed it now but 1973 Israeli infantry assault was one I tried and failed. Entebbe opened though.

That's because the scenario uses a map that is not included with the mod, "Tagab.map".
I'm guessing it comes with Soviet-Afghan war.

Yep, That's an original SAW map.

So I guess that needs to be an additional caveat to cross compatibility: any scenarios in a mod which use maps native to the base game wont work in any other base game.

In those cases one would need to buy the original base game to get the map.

... but would that really be so bad? .. these are damn fine games!
