Does anyone own Rule The Waves & Rule The Waves II?

https://nws-software.com/products/rule-the-waves

https://nws-software.com/products/rule-the-waves-2

If so, what do you think of them?

Are both games considered very stable or do they have a history of crashing or have other known bugs?

How proactive is NWS in trying to fix known issues or is it one of those "what you see is what you get"?

Thanks

Of the two RTW2 has aircraft and carriers while RTW1 does not.

RTW2 is still being worked on and is due a a major expansion which will increase the time period covered from the current 1900-1950 to 1890-1970's, with all the new technology and weapons involved. The NWS team is active in the forums, and responds quickly to questions and comments.

Both titles are very stable now with no major problems being reported.

There is a very friendly and knowledgeable user community. Plenty of mods are available for both titles.

Only playable against the AI which is pretty tactically proficient in most cases.

A demo for RTW2 (an earlier version than the current 1.25) is available. In my opinion the NWS products are better than the WDS naval titles in many ways. I recommend them highly.

RE: Rule The Waves & Rule The Waves II
I second all of the above. The other 2 titles (prior to RTW) are also excellent - Steam and Iron, the Great War at Sea and Steam and Iron, the Russo-Japanese war. Both come with campaigns. They are not supported any longer, I think, with patches and so on, as the devs are now putting all efforts into the above mentioned 'forthcoming' DLC for RTW2. I can't see, by the way, how it would be advantageous to buy RTW now, instead of RTW2, which kind of replaces it and is the title that gets all the development.

I had (I say had because it must be on an external drive somewhere) Steam & Iron and thought it was really good.
Does RTW2 use that as a combat engine?

Yes, the tactical system is a slightly modified Steam and Iron one. The biggest changes involve the incorporation of aircraft.

I own S&I and RJW and had no problem at all with the changes.
