RE: PUBLIC EVENT LOG
11th September 1944

"Germany Calling" reports:
"Glorious Wehrmacht and the SS are launching offensives on all fronts with their allies! A massive push has been executed by the German troops around the small town of Copsa Mica, where over a thousand Romanian troops are repoprted to be dead - or soon to be dead - by the hand of Thor warriors.
Soon, our counter0offensive shall push the Soviets and trecherous Romanians from the Balkan hills and the tide of the war shall be turned!

In other news: Belgian Army liberates the Belgian town of Zeebrugge, effectively securing most of the Belgian coast. Bolesław Bierut - a politician from the Polish Worker's Party - is elected the president of the Provisional Government in Poland. Kriegsmarine scuttles yet another u-boat: the U-19 in the Black Sea. US Army patrols were sighted near Keppelhausen - a first time since the 1939 an allied soldier stepped into the German land...

RE: PUBLIC EVENT LOG
Summary day 1-9

It has been 9 days since joint Hungarian- German attack descended upon Southern Transylvania.
Outnumbered Romanian troops - in fact counting only two weakened infantry divisions with minor armor support - faced onslaught of four enemy divisions. Three Hungarian and one German, as well as supporting elements. This includes one Hungarian armoured division and German elite SS cavalry division.

Losses are extreme. Romanians lost in the field and gave way on nearly a dozen of occasions. Romanian Air Force attempts to support the ground troops, but AA umbrella makes attrition barely bearable.

Yet, the defence is determined. The task of Axis force was to setup around Southern Passes and prevent Soviet forces from deploying properly. Axis stomped over Romanian bodies, but they did not walk fast enough.

Battered Romanian units are joined by the Soviets on 10th September 1944. Infantry divisions of the Red Army are pouring from the mountain passes, ready to storm up north, towards where Hungarians came from in the first place. Further Romanian reinforcements are coming in as well.

The tide might be soon turning against the Axis. What today looks as a disaster for the Allied, tomorrow might let them speak.

As victors, perhaps?
Yet, the campaign must continue...

This summary occurs just before first combat contact between Axis and Soviet troops.

The list only comprises in-game battle casualties, it ignores autoresolved losses as well other losses such as surrenders and remnants within dissolved units.

Losses do not include off-map shot-down aircraft (operational map movements)

Meanwhile, the Warsaw Uprising still lasts, albeit with massive destruction of the city. First supply drops executed by the Red Air Force occure in Warsaw in the blazing light of fires. It is the first drop after so far 44 days of lone combat executed by the Home Army in the city. Previously USSR has deliberately barred Allied Air Forces from using Red Army airstrips to refuel before supply drops, hoping that Germans shall topple the uprising in blood. The American destroyer USS Warrington sank off the Bahamas in the Great Atlantic hurricane. The outpost in the Greek town of Meligalas manned by the Security Battalions is reported to be under attack by the communist ELAS partisans... (...)
