Locked in Remote Control

This is an odd one.

I am about a third of the way into a M/G campaign in hotseat mode and the game has inexplicably switched to remote control.

It is the Axis players turn and all Axis units are shown in full detail. However, the status bar says it is the allied players turn.

Furthermore, I can not issue any commands to any units nor can I advance into the next turn.

What to do?

Try toggling the AI assignments for the allied side, or Axis side, or both, one at a time??? If no luck, send me the current turn to rickbancroft AT q.com and I can try fixing it manually, but no idea if I can do it as I have never heard of that.

I assume no encryption for this style of play, so there is at least a chance.

Switching to full AI mode and letting the game play out a turn, then going back and reopening the last saved game seemed to have done the trick.

Still no idea how or why it did that.
