Our Kiev '43 Counterattack at Fastov games have been completed.

Akilpio as Axis: 1485 points
ComradeP as Axis: 1611 points

Akilpio's everything or nothing defence very nearly succeeded. Following encirclement of a large number of units in and around Fastov, it was an exciting finish after some frustrating turns of trying to disrupt all units in a stack..

The first game with me as the Soviets featured a small late game counterattack that captured one German VP and mauled a German recon screen, but otherwise couldn't change the victory level. I mostly retreated towards the map edges in an organized manner, instead of holding VP's until my units were destroyed.

Interesting that you both tried very different strategy to the same scenario with similar results.  Big Grin

My opponent wishes to concede in our second game since my victory seems assured. He will still be eligible for the chance to win a free game, correct?  He is not dropping out of the tournament, just felt the game was decided.
