Any good war museums to visit? Perhaps get a glimpse of a few HO Type WW 2 Jap battle tanks that were captured.

Pete, be sure to go to the Military Museum. Its on Fuxing Lu, you can get a #1 bus there or take the subway to Junshi Bowuguan. They got lots of stuff there from the war against the nationalists, WWII, Korea and Cold War. There are plenty of tanks, aircraft and rockets you can climb all over, fun for the whole family.
