Mike "Warhorse" Amos, has released his DG Korean War MOD!
While there are no scenarios completed yet, Mike wanted to release this MOD so some of our skilled scenario designers can get ahold of it and perhaps provide us with some of their excellant offerings in yet another theatre of war.
Mike has done all the hard work, Now it's up to us to make it work! :)
Great work to see you finish this, I started on a Korean War mod for Rising Sun in 2001 but work and life saw me shelve the project and realise that it was just too time consuming..I enjoyed the research though but couldn't keep up. I started working on it again this year but then I saw you had done yours. (I was the guy that modded the DG.exe and added all those dates) If you are interested I can send you over what I have done. You might find the something useful if you plan to make changes in the future..I shouldn't be too hard to grab what I have in RS and convert it to DG
I will surely add your name to the credits, I'm so sorry I couldn't find out who it was had modified the exe!! That was indeed what resolved me to use DG as opposed to RS, my hat is off to you sir! I would be very appreciative of you to send me what you have, although I may have it already!! It is so hard with all I've gathered over the years, and multiple installs to tell for sure, thank you very much for the offer!! Thanks for your hard work in modifiying also, without that, I couldn't have done this!
I thought I should add the Yongsan scenario attachment to this.
Yongsan 3-SEP-1950 (35 Turns), 60km NW of Pusan:
[Best played Human vs Human]
The dog days of August had given way to September.
Casualties during the next two weeks were to be the greatest
of the Korean War. To the men of Eighth Army, these were to be
the worst of "the days along the Naktong". Having pushed a
previous North Korean assault back across the river units of
the 1st Provisional Marine Brigade and the Army's 9th Regimental
Combat Team were once again called upon to help hold the fragile
line around Pusan. Moving out from the embattled town of Yongsan
the 5th Marine Regiment deployed to face the NKPA 9th Division
and battered remnants of the 4th which was attempting to mop up
the remains of Task Force Manchu; survivors of B Co. and the
9th RCT Heavy Weapons Companies left isolated to the west on
Hill 209. The Marines, soon to be recalled for the Inchon landings,
had little time to close the bridgehead and drive the North Koreans
back across the Naktong.
It is recommended that players follow the instructions included in
the text file to change visibility to 1 for night turns 11-15 and
26-30. Airstrikes should only be plotted if the following turn is
a daylight turn.
