What Good are LMG Teams?

The Russian DP.
The American BAR.
The British BREN.
The German MG 34.

You know, those little 2-man LMG teams you get sometimes in a scenario. What do you use them for? What roles do they excel in? Are they worth buying in a quick battle?

Do they achieve :smg: or do they leave your opponent ?

zero set up time, hard to spot, keep a whole platoon pinned down, recon by fire, in QB's put them on Move to Contact and set em loose! I love them. they're a bit like ATR's they may not seem to do much when they're on your side but when you're up against them and they're used well they're a nightmare. and they ride on just about anything too.

They are very useful buggers for a variety of roles of course. In addition to the normal stuff, like to use them as spotters for my tanks. Tanks remain hidden behind an embankment, while the LMG team/teams spot, fire on enemy soft targets, inviting enemy armor to counter attack the LMG team/teams, etc..
Providing that happens, my hidden armor has the last say.. :-)

Hi,

LMG are slow, vulnerable to everything, poor range of fire.
This is the only unit on this game i have no function to give it. at the end of each setup i make, this is always the unit that i don't know where i will place or what i will plan for it.
finally, i place it to defend an AT team or something like that, but i never killed anything with them.

the less i buy some of them, felling better i am.

I used to use them as scouts until I graduated to snipers - now they are good to fill up that last 8 points in a QB purchase....

LMG teams have an area fire affect that is equal to that of HMG teams. Area fire with them and it will cause your opponents heads to drop. Very useful IMO.
