Divided Ground problem

I bought a DG cd and just loaded it.

I tried to play a game vs AI and discovered that the top tool bar does not appear and the cd continues to run for several minutes at a time.

Do I need to download the DG patch?

Press 'M' on the keyboard to access the top tool bar.
