3 March, 1942
Kadanghaoer, Java: After the Japanese Shoji Detachment had repulsed all of the Allied attempts to take the airfield at Kalidjati,
LtCol Ono's Guard Unit was detached to patrol the Japanese supply
line, back northeast, through the Eretanwetan beachhead. During
the night, after passing east through Eretanwetan, the Japanese
detachment ran into the Dutch 2nd Recon Cavalry Unit, which has
been patrolling westward from the east side of Eretanwetan, in
the vicinity of the town of Kadanghaoer.
