Bridge question
I was messing around to see if I could destroy a ford across a river. The ford looked like a bunch of rocks.
My engineers actually built a bridge to replace the rocks? Then, despite several attempts, I was unable to destroy the bridge?
Is this standard proceedure given the circumstances?
Thank you,
Pat

RE: Bridge question
It's just a new feature for our engineers.

When does your personal ban start exactly?

Maybe when enough brave drivers get their trucks to the bridge?
BTW, an engineer can construct a light bridge that only infantry can cross. Maybe the drivers can just block the entrance hex? :kill:

RE: Bridge question
I tried to drive a Tiger over the rocks across the river and was able to do so.
Once the SS Engineer Platoon built the wooden bridge, I was still able to drive the Tiger across it?
Note that the Tiger could not cross the river at any hex without a ford or bridge.
I wasn't just sitting around trying to think of something to post on the Blitz. This question has serious implications in a game I am playing in terms of a strategy.

RE: Bridge question
My understanding is that heavy tanks can use fords. Your engineers built a footbridge next to the ford (in the same hexside) not replacing it. Thus the tank can still use the ford but it would be interesting to see if infantry paid the bridge APs or the ford APs.
You should be able to destroy the bridge though. Given that the tank can still cross at that hexside it seems that the ford is still there, just that the graphic is hidden.

RE: Bridge question
So Umbro, do you then believe that a ford cannot be destroyed?
Engineers can build a bridge, but they can't remove a few rocks across a river?
While I am on the subject, does an engineer unit have to have a special icon to lay a mine?
Thank you for your observations sir,
Pat
